IID Scheme (Industrial Infrastructure Development Scheme)

The IID Scheme is a government initiative aimed at enhancing industrial infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas to promote entrepreneurship and balanced regional development. COWE collaborates with this scheme to help establish Women Industrial Estates equipped with essential facilities like roads, water, power, communication, and sheds. These estates provide cost-effective, ready-to-use workspaces for women entrepreneurs across sectors such as food processing, handloom, handicrafts, and more.
The scheme not only addresses infrastructure gaps but also promotes employment generation and inclusive growth. Through its tie-up with the IID Scheme, COWE ensures that women-led enterprises, particularly in underdeveloped regions, have access to physical resources that would otherwise be unaffordable. This empowers women to shift from informal to formal entrepreneurship, enhancing productivity and visibility. The IID Scheme thereby complements COWE’s mission to create equitable business opportunities and foster economic independence for women.
