Advocacy with Government

COWE’s Vision is "To be a national association of women business owners that propels Women Entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power". As part of working towards this vision COWE works with various stakeholders in the government and outside government.

With the government COWE sharing ground realities with reports and surveys. COWE Chapters have been invited by their state governments to give feedback on policies, processes, issues faced by women entrepreneurs. We have been part of the AP Government – Industrial Task Force and We-Hub of Telangana Government.

At National level we have been working closely with the Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Women and Child Development etc where we have helped them spread information of their schemes and helped many women take advantage of these schemes. COWE has also shared the impact of these schemes and issues faced by women entrepreneurs with the ministries. One of our suggestions to add procurement for women entrepreneurs as part of public procurement policy was appreciated and subsequently made part of the policy. COWE, was the only Women’s Organisation invited to the Budget webinar with Prime Minister Shri. Modiji &Finance Minister Smt.Nirmala Sitaraman in February 2021

COWE also works with non-governmental development bodies like UNWomen, SIDBI etc to empower more women and add to the movement of women in power.
